The Urban Building, Slough - 3M Window Film

The Urban Building is located in the heart of Slough and has been transformed into a substantial, state-of-the-art, mixed-use workspace of high specification. The seven-floor building boasts views of Windsor Castle from it's landing areas.

However, the glass facade building faces south towards the sun.  M & E engineers reported that the chiller pumps supplying the communal landing areas were struggling to cope with the excessive radiant heat gains.  The occupants experienced unbearable temperatures whilst waiting for the lifts on each level of the building.  

WindowTreat was appointed to provide a solution to this problem.  Analyzing and identifying the glazing was paramount in proving out the heat gain reductions that could be achieved by upgrading the glass with recommended window film products.  

Respecting the landlords concerns regarding the aesthetics of the building, WindowTreat presented product options with their modelled performances and associated costs.  This allowed the client to make an informed decision, backed by professional indemnity, on how best to resolve the issues.
