Integrated Awnings for Modern Architecture

Outdoor spaces shape daily life. They are places to unwind, gather and enjoy the world beyond the glass. Creating true comfort outdoors begins with shading that is engineered with the same precision as the home itself.

INCA is a fully built in retractable arm awning that disappears into the façade for a clean and uninterrupted architectural line. The cassette sits inside a prepared 245 mm by 245 mm section, so the entire system remains flush with the structure. Paired with high performance Dickson solar fabrics, it delivers dependable heat and glare control with a refined, contemporary look.

Whether you are planning a new build or shaping an outdoor space during construction, INCA turns terraces, balconies and garden rooms into comfortable and protected areas that feel naturally connected to the home.

INCA is designed for projects that require a fully recessed solution. It is a first fix architectural element that enhances the façade and provides shade only when needed.

INCA Built In Awnings for First Fix Projects

INCA is created for homes where the architecture is considered from the very beginning. Installed at first fix, it becomes part of the building envelope rather than an addition to it. The recessed housing provides the depth and structure needed for a clean, flush finish that keeps the façade uninterrupted.

Built-In Electric Awning Heritage

Built in awnings have their roots in the earliest forms of solar protection, when simple fabric canopies were added to buildings to create shade and comfort. As architecture evolved toward larger glazing, cleaner lines and stronger indoor‑outdoor connections, the need for shading that could disappear became clear. What began as a practical add‑on gradually shifted into an integrated design element, planned at first fix and recessed within the structure.

Today’s built in awnings represent the culmination of that evolution, offering the comfort of traditional shading with the architectural purity demanded by modern homes.

NCA is designed to be built into the façade at first fix. Once installed, the cassette sits inside a structurally sound 245 mm by 245 mm void so the awning remains completely hidden when not in use. Only the terminal profile is visible, keeping the architecture clean.

INCA is intended for new builds and major renovations where a recessed void can be prepared during construction. For existing homes, a surface‑mounted retractable awning is usually the more suitable option.

INCA can reach widths up to 600 cm with a projection of up to 360 cm, making it suitable for terraces, balconies and large glazed elevations.

Lead times are up to 12 weeks depending on specification and project requirements.

Planning needs to be done so the structural pocket can be surveyed prior to manufacture.

The void is formed during the structural stage of the build so the awning cassette can recess cleanly into the façade. Your builder or architect will ensure the 245 mm by 245 mm space is structurally sound and correctly aligned.

The terminal profile and arms can be finished in a range of architectural colours to complement the façade.

No. Prestige Exterior cannot be used on glass with self-cleaning coatings such as Pilkington Activ™.

INCA is engineered for stable operation in typical residential wind conditions. Wind Speed 2.
