Introduction
Thank you for taking the time to talk with me about your project. Based on our conversation, I’ve put together this report to reflect what matters most to you. Inside, you’ll find examples of the systems we discussed, how they would work in your space, and what you can realistically expect in terms of performance and cost.
When you’re ready, you can book a TEAMS call with me and I’ll walk you through everything step by step.

Why we Oversize The System
We manufacture the blind system to a larger size than the skylight on every side: 250mm at the head, 150mm at the bottom and 70mm along each side. This keeps the cassette box, side rails and bottom rail outside the glazed area when the fabric is both retracted and deployed. The aim is to keep a cleaner, uninterrupted view from your living space looking out instead of viewing hardware. It also helps reduce heat gain and light ingress.

Framed vs frameless: why your skylight needs a different fixing
A framed skylight lets a blind fix straight to its frame.
On a frameless skylight we fix into the kerb substrate below the glass and bring the blind out above the protruding glazing. This requires bespoke bracketry and water proofing to any penetrated membrane.

Bespoke bracketry for frameless skylights
A frameless skylight has no frame around its glass, so there is nothing at the edge for a blind to fix to. The glass also oversails the upstand it sits on, so a standard bracket fixed to the upstand would hit the glass edge. We therefore make a bespoke aluminium bracket for every frameless installation, as shown in the section below.
Getting past the protruding glass. he bespoke aluminium angle bracket fixes to the face of the upstand, below the glass. How far the glass protrudes beyond the upstand varies from skylight to skylight, so we size the angle for each project to give the blind the clearance it needs. The Artemis adjustable face-fix bracket then bolts to the angle and carries the blind head rail out past the glass edge, and its adjustment lets us set the head rail precisely on site. Nothing is fixed to, clamped to or rests on the glass, so the glazing and its seals are left untouched.

Keeping the membrane watertight. The upstand is wrapped in the roof’s waterproof membrane, and every bolt through it is a possible route for water. Each M6 × 50 coach bolt is fitted with an EPDM sealing washer. A 3 mm EPDM cellular rubber strip runs between the angle and the upstand, compressing against the membrane to seal the whole contact face. At survey we check the membrane type and condition, and plan the fixing positions before any drilling.

- £300 discount
You have the option to take part in our marketing scheme. In return for the discount on your electric roof blinds, we ask for a recorded video conversation with Steve, our General Manager, along with multiple photos or videos (sent via We Transfer) of your finished installation. These will appear on our website.
This helps future customers understand our solutions and gives Steve valuable insight into how we can continue to improve our service. Your feedback plays a real part in shaping the experience for the next homeowner.
