A clear path to a beautifully designed and truly liveable space
WindowTreat works differently to most companies in the shading industry. We do not rely on hard selling or pressure. Our approach is educational, transparent and focused on long term performance. For many years we have led the market in providing homeowners and architects with no compromised electric shading solutions that protect the integrity of their designs and keep living spaces genuinely usable.
Our Learning Centre supports this approach by giving anyone researching these systems an honest and practical insight into what works, what does not and why. The aim is simple. Help people make informed decisions that protect their vision.
Why early involvement matters
The earlier we are involved, the more options you have. When shading is considered during the design stage, you can integrate electric systems into the structure before first fix. This allows blinds to disappear into pockets, any wiring to be concealed and the architecture to remain clean and uncluttered.
If shading is left until later, the compromise is often the slim sight lines you carefully selected for your glazing. Once the structure is fixed, the opportunity to hide systems is reduced. Even so, our role remains the same. We help you create a usable space with light that is properly managed across large glazed areas. Whether you are early in the journey or long past completion, the goal is always to make your space comfortable and enjoyable to live in.
We also understand that you will not start the process until you are ready. Many customers spend time exploring our Learning Centre first. You are welcome to search for the information you need at your own pace. If you cannot find an answer, you can send us the questions & topics you would have liked to see covered. Everything we do is about trust and clarity.
1. Your First Step: The Callback
A conversation, not a sales pitch
Your journey begins with a callback booked through our website. This is a short and focused conversation designed to understand:
- What you want to achieve
- What stage your project is at
- What glazing you are working with
- What concerns or expectations you have
To help our experts prepare, you will be asked to share:
- Measured sizes
- Photos of the space
- Architectural elevations and plan drawings
- Glass & glazing specifications
This information allows us to build a clear picture of what is required and what is possible. You will also receive helpful resources from our Learning Centre which explain the principles behind shading and highlight common mistakes to avoid.
2. The TEAMS Session
Where the solution becomes clearer
The TEAMS meeting is where everything comes together. It is also where trust is built. Before and during the session, we support you with:
- Photos and videos of similar scenarios
- Success stories from past customers
- Genuine customer feedback and insight
- Learning Centre articles that explain fabrics, systems and performance
- Real examples that show you how the right solution behaves in real homes
Everything we do is about trust. We want you to see what works, why it works and how it will work for you.

Why TEAMS instead of coming round immediately
Years ago, our experts spent hours stuck in congestion travelling between homes around the country. There were times when we stood in the rain, inside an empty shell with no roof, trying to discuss & envisage what might be possible. It was slow, inefficient, expensive and prevented us from helping more homeowners and architects. There had to be a better way.
Technology has changed everything. TEAMS video calls allow us to assist customers quickly, clearly and without pressure. We can review drawings, photos and glazing details in advance. You get expert guidance without waiting for a site visit, and we can focus our time on solving problems rather than sitting in traffic.
Many customers join Chris or Steve for a TEAMS session. Many of them have more than one session and this is always welcomed. These calls can be arranged at relatively short notice which makes the process flexible and collaborative.
During these sessions we:
- Walk you through the proposed solutions and options
- Explain the engineering behind them
- Address concerns, expectations and alternatives.
- Show how the system will perform in real conditions
- Discuss costs, options and long term value
By the end you will understand not only what we recommend but what is the right choice for your space.
3. Samples and Confidence
Seeing and understanding the performance
Once you have reviewed the proposal you may want to see fabric samples. These are sent first class and usually reach customers within a couple of days.
This step is important because:
- You can see the fabric quality in different lighting conditions
- You can understand how it will look within your home
- You can check that the performance aligns with your expectations

Fabric quality alone is not enough. It will only look as good as the system allows it to look. If the blind lacks tensioning, stability or engineering integrity, even the best fabric will ripple or distort. This is why we focus on the system as a whole rather than just the material in isolation but if the fabric doesn’t have the the right credentials you will not get the required impact.
4. Placing the Order
A simple and transparent step that moves your project forward
When you are ready to move forward, a proforma invoice is issued for a 50% deposit. This confirms your commitment and places your project into our scheduling system so we can prepare for the manufacturing survey.
The deposit allows the technical process to begin. The measuring survey can take place for manufacture, the production information can be prepared and components can be ordered.
You can still be deciding on some of the bespoke details at this stage. Many customers are still finalising:
- Control options
- Sensors
- Fabric choices
- Hardware colours
However, these final decisions must be confirmed once the survey is complete and before we enter manufacturing. This ensures that every component is cut correctly for the right solution.
The remaining 50% is not due until the installation is complete. This reflects our commitment to trust, transparency and a non-compromised service.
5. Survey and Installation
Precision that protects the architecture
A site visit takes place once there is something physical to measure that will not be altered. Our installation team takes detailed and accurate measurements so your bespoke system can go into manufacture.
From order to installation you can expect a journey of seven to nine weeks. Installation is usually scheduled around weeks five to six once production and logistics are confirmed.
The same team that surveys your originally, returns to install the system. They understand:
- Different substrates & Fixing methods
- Structural considerations & how your home is built
- How our systems must be integrated
This ensures the final result is flawless. Fabrics sit perfectly. Blinds operate quietly and reliably. The system becomes part of the architecture rather than an afterthought.
You are in safe hands from start to finish.
6. The Result
Where your space finally becomes the space you imagined
The true measure of a shading system is not just how it looks on day one. It is how it transforms the way you live in the space. The result of this journey is a home that works exactly as you intended from the very beginning.
A room that stays comfortable throughout the year. A room that feels calm and balanced even with large areas of glazing. A room that invites you in rather than pushes you away.
There is no need to avoid the space because it is too hot, too bright or too exposed. Instead, it becomes a natural part of daily life. Morning coffee, family meals, quiet evenings, work, relaxation. The room supports all of it because the light is managed properly and the environment is under control.
If shading was designed into the build, the system protects the original architecture and keeps the clean lines you chose. If the project was already complete, the solution has been introduced with sensitivity so it blends with the home you already love. Either way, the outcome is seamless.
Every component has been engineered to withstand daily use. The fabrics hold their form. The motors operate quietly and reliably. The system responds when you need it and disappears when you do not. Nothing feels temporary or improvised. Everything feels intentional.
This is the point where the vision becomes reality. A space that is beautiful. A space that is usable. A space that is truly yours.
This is the WindowTreat result. A no compromised solution that protects your comfort, your architecture and your original dream.
