Report: Orangery Roof Lantern Shading 1.9 x 2.3m

Introduction

Thank you for taking the time to talk with me about your project. Based on our conversation, I’ve put together this report to reflect what matters most to you. Inside, you’ll find examples of the systems we discussed, how they would work in your space, and what you can realistically expect in terms of performance and cost.

When you’re ready, you can book a TEAMS call with me and I’ll walk you through everything step by step.

1. Your Key Priorities

Based on your survey responses, these are the issues you need to resolve most.

  • Priority 1: Manage the overwhealming brightness
  • Priority 2: Insects in the lantern

2. Your Key Preferences

Based on our conversation your concerns that mean the most to you.

  • Preference 1:  No visible cords in the structural opening
  • Preference 2: No rippling of the fabric
  • Preference 3: Long Term Reliability
  • Preference 4: Fabric Performance

3. Your Roof Lantern Size

  • Width: 1910mm
  • Length: 2280mm

The Athena’s width could be either length so can travel in any direction within this lantern. Parameters are 3m x 3m.

Based on your preferences and the size of your lantern, the most suitable system is:

The Athena Electric Roof Blind

This system works well for you because:

  • It supports the span of your lantern without sagging
  • 3 times more fabric tension than CTS systems minimising rippling
  • No visible cords
  • Headbox 125mm wide by 105mm high
  • Side channels on two longer sides 54mm.
  • Dimensionally stable fabrics that will deliver on performance and aesthetics
  • Most Roof Lantern Blinds Sag. Here’s Why.

Andrew’s Athena allowing the roof lantern to remain the ‘star of the show’.

5. Motor Options

  • Somfy Sonesse 40 RTS (mains powered). Sound level 35 Decibel. (Requires a 5A switched fuse spur installed by your electrician if there is no mains power in your lantern)
  • Somfy Sunea 40 IO (solar battery powered) Sound level 70 Decibel.

Both options allow remote control handset touch control and Somfy Tahoma Hub/App for automation

6. Control Options

  • Somfy Tahoma Hub & Smart Phone App (compatible with motors above)
  • Automated sun sensor

This combinations offers you the best of touch control and the option of sun automation
